- Senior UnderwriterLocation: RedhillSalary: £24,000 - £27,000A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join this forward-thinking Company. The role will initially be a 12-Month Contract but there are real opportunities to remain within the Company if the Contract is completed successfully it could really springboard your career. There are lots of changes within the Company and it is also successfully acquiring within different areas.Core Role Details are:
- To underwrite all Finance applications up to a personal authority of £270K for Ltd, Corporate, Private Individuals as well as deals referred by Compliance.
- Experience in Fraud / CIFAS
- Mentor less experienced team members on more complex business requirements within the 14 strong department
- Comply with the Data Protection Act and Money Laundering Policy
- Ad-hoc duties for the Underwriting Controller
Key Skills and Experience:- Educated to GCSE level (Maths & English essential)
- Knowledge of Credit Scoring Systems
- Ability to analyse Accounts
- Minimum 12 months Underwriting experience
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to excise initiative and judgement
- Motor Finance preferred but previous successful applicants have had Mortgage Underwriting Background, etc
Work Pattern:- The Department is open 361 days/pa closed on: Christmas Day/Boxing Day/NY Day and Easter Sunday. Annual Leave Entitlement: 26 days/pa + Bank Holidays
- Working week is based on 36.25 hours/week and the Department Hours could be on the following rotation:
- Mon - Fri 0830am - 1630hrs; 0900am - 1700hrs;
- Sat 1:3 Saturdays are required with a day off in lieu
- Bank Holidays Double Time and a day off in lieu
- Work from Home: The Company is keen to adopt a WFH Policy - 1 x day/week (flexible)
